According to Cyprus’ law, maternity leave is granted for a period of 18 weeks, starting from two weeks prior to the expected date of birth.
On 02 December 2015 the maternity Law has been amended.
The new amendments are:
(i) In case of delivery of twins, the duration of maternity leave extends to 22 weeks; (additional 4 weeks)
(ii)In case of delivery of more than two children (i.e. birth of triplets etc.), the maternity leave duration extends to 26 weeks or more.
The above amendment entered into force as from 2 December 2015.
