Tax Advisor

Location: Cyprus, Nicosia

Our Cyprus office is growing, and we are looking for a dynamic, career-oriented individual to join our Corporate Accounting Department for the position of Tax Advisor.

Job description:

  • Analyse financial and operational data to identify tax risks, optimization opportunities, and strategic initiatives across all jurisdictions.
  • Oversee and coordinate tax audits, liaising with authorities, external auditors, and consultants to ensure smooth and compliant processes.
  • Guide and participate in tax provisioning, reporting, and preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor changes in local and international tax legislation and assess their impact on the organization, providing actionable guidance to leadership.
  • Evaluate existing tax policies and procedures, recommending improvements to enhance efficiency, compliance, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Preparation and review of complex corporate, indirect, and, where applicable, individual or trust tax returns across offices.
  • Develop and implement tax processes, workflows, and efficiency initiatives across all company offices to create a scalable function.
  • Serve as the primary tax advisor to senior management and the Board of Directors, performing any additional tax-related duties or projects as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • ACCA Qualification is preferred.
  • Fluency in English and Greek is a must.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting and tax.
  • Experience with tax compliance, including filing tax returns and responding to tax audits.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel and MS Office and computer literate.
  • Understanding of IFRS accounting standards and familiarity with software programs “Cycom” and “Caseware” will be considered an advantage.
