Nicosia - Corporate Accountant

Position:  Corporate Accountant

Location: Nicosia, Cyprus

Cypress Trustees Ltd, the Cyprus based corporate arm of Eurofast, is looking to recruit a Corporate Accountant for our offices in Nicosia, Cyprus.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the accounting function of our Corporate clients and handling all financial information in a complete, accurate and timely manner. More specifically, the successful candidate will be responsible for inputting accounting entries in our accounting software , balancing accounts (double entries), handling TAX/VAT matters as well as conducting  reconciliations and preparing the relevant Trial Balances and Financial Statements.


  • A University/College degree in Accounting or related discipline and/or LCCI Higher in Accounting
  • 2-3 years experience in a similar role
  • Skilled in MS Office, especially in Excel
  • Maintain accounting files, permanent file, accounting file, audit file etc.
  • Handle VAT issues while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements
  • Knowledge of how to Perform VAT entries, good working knowledge of VAT procedures
  • Knowledge of Income Tax / Corporation Tax (Submission procedure of IR1 & IR4 Forms)
  • Deliver correct & balanced Trial Balances
  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of all accounting deadlines
  • Perform reconciliation of receivables/payables and bank accounts
  • Knowledge in Accounting and general accepted accounting principles
  • Fluent in both Greek and English Language
  • Familiarity with accounting software programs (such as Intelisoft, Cycom, Sage) will be considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Caseware will be considered as an advantage
  • knowledge in MS Office, (Excel, Word, Power Point ) but especially in Excel

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Follow instructions of IT Manager
  • Assist with setting up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
  • Check computer hardware (SSD, HDD, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality
  • Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
  • Assist with maintaining local networks in ways that optimize performance
  • Develop and maintain the website of the company. (WordPress CMS)
  • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
  • Assist in scheduling upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field or
  • Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication ability
  • In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
  • Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
  • Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
  • Fluent spoken and written English

  • Deep knowledge of local accounting standards, tax laws and their application;
  • Very good command of spoken and written English language;

  • Process monthly payroll & payments and preparation of compulsory reports for authorities
  • Preparation of data for company’s management (reporting, recapitulations etc.)
  • Prepare specific reports at regular intervals according to client requests
  • Represent the client before relevant institutions.
  • Perform advisory services to client for labour and payroll issues


  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in payroll processing
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant accounting/ HR qualification
  • Fluent in English
  • Experience in working with international/multinational companies
